Anyone know if satellite radio is available in TW? Are cars being delivered with XM in addition to AM/FM?
I think not so,as the orbits or their satellites does not cover asia. however, xm internet radio…dunno.
FCC in the US only provided two channels for satellite radio. One to XM, the other to Sirius. Is essentially UScentric. On-line is possible at $7.99 a month. There are alot of sites for internet radio channels. Best option is to find the site for your favorite stations from home, and most of the time they provide on-line listening.
The US sat. radio services are only good in the United States (and possibly Canada). You need a US address and credit card to subscribe for the services, but you can listen to the service over the internet “while away on international business.”
The major services in the US offer a free trail subscription that you can listen to via the internet for a couple of days.
Try Worldspace for Taiwan. I have never tried it, but search Forumosa there people that have it here. You can purchase the radios in Thailand and Singapore.
I would only want to get it for NPR or listening in my car and neither are possible. NPR is Free to Air and does not need a monthly subscription, but it is not available in Taiwan. Also, unlike XM, you cannot get it in your car or while moving.
