Some prisons in SC have a policy making prisoners who commit lewd sexual acts (ostensibly to humiliate/bully female prison employees) wear a pink outfit for several months.
A prisoner has filed a lawsuit.
Frankly, I think the case should be thrown out. A prisoner has reduced rights, says the Supreme Court. Even when he gets out, as a convicted felon, he doesn’t have full rights as everyone else.
More to the point, there is no constitutional right being violated here. Human rights? haha.
I’m ok with this as long as the rule is used fairly, and deters this kind of conduct.
I saw a show once that featured a prisoner chain gang all wearing pink socks and underwear, at the behest of the warden. It wasn’t a special punishment…all male prisoners had to endure it.
