I haven’t used my bath in about 6 months, but recently i’ve been working out really hard and was sore so I decided to take a bath. But the water was yellow. It’s only yellow when it’s hot, cold water is clear. I ran the hot water for about 5 min to see if it would get better but it was still yellow. Is there something wrong with my piping or do I need to just run it more since it’s been a while since I used the bath?
I have observed this condition in some apartments, but usually only for the first ten or so seconds of running the hot water. I think it has to do with rust or copper particle (?) build-up inside the pipes that carry hot water. It would seem logical to me that hot water flushes out these particles and quite an amount has accumulated over the last 6 months you did not use the tub.
Happens the same to us. In one of our toilets we only use hot water once every couple of weeks when I need to shave (my head), and when I turn it on it looks yellow-ish for a few seconds. There was a time when I didn’t shave at home for a month because I did so on holiday, and when I did it back home the water looked yellow-ish for longer than usual.
My guess is the same as hsinhai78, but 5 minutes of yellow water is a very long time, is it still doing it?
I ran it for maybe another 15mins. And said fuck it, I’m just going to take the bath. Can’t be worst than swimming in a lake or something. And it wasn’t smelling weird or anything it was just yellow. I put in some body soap so it was more bubbly.
Don’t eat yellow snow…
Is aanybody peeing in your hot water tank?
No lol, I have the entire floor of my building like the elevator is my door. I have my own water tank so i’m not peeing in it unless i’m sleep walking.
And look for dead rotting bodies in the rooftop water towers while you are at it.
