Yes.. Another Work Permit Question

I currently have a 3 year college diploma in Marketing and another professional certification in Canada, but I am applying for a translating position in Taiwan. The prospective employer mentioned that he is not sure if I can be hired as he thinks one needs a 4 year University degree AND 2 years work experience OR a masters or PhD to get a work permit.

I should add that in addition to my 3 year marketing diploma, I have about 10 years experience in a technical position (not translating but a position where I decipher legal documents)

Would this be a problem? I was looking online but can’t seem to find a definitive answer.

Thanks.

I think with work permits there’s more than one way to fry an egg.

A friend of mine needed 2 years experience for his work permit but only had one… But was able to get around that with a letter of endorsement from a university professor.

Your prospective boss should investigate this a little further by phoning the CLA or calling some other companies who’ve had to jump through the work permit hoops many times before.
