I strongly agree. It’s clearly evidence of evolution: survival of those who look both ways. The same applies to humans, of course.
Just the other day, I saw a dog wait for the green light before crossing. S/he strolled to the corner, tongue out, looking around, looked up at the traffic light, and waited till it turned green. The unbelievable part was when s/he was waiting for the light to change, traffic was totally clear for the dog to jaywalk. ![]()
I can confirm this. I’ve seen it too. Much smarter than some humans. Smarter than some presidents, even.
yes indeed, I have seen that here myself. I think the street dogs here are pretty clever.
We have got one at home and even at 6 months he is one smart dog.
Yeah, it’s like I specially notice when a dog does something stupid in the traffic because I’m so used to seeing them using the traffic lights.
That sounded sarcastic. Was it?
i think folks oughta take better care of dogs. if i had a dog, his name would be Joe. he would be a german shepherd like on the TV show “Run Joe Run”. when people scream at me, he would bark at them and say back off. uh… getting off topic. love dogs.
I once saw a dog use one of those overhead pedestrian bridges to cross a small sized road. It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. He never slowed down from his trot, either. Made it look like he’d done it many times before.
Glad to hear that you’re okay rantheman. I’m praying that I don’t have my first scooter accident anytime soon.
I regularly see dogs using the pedestrian / zebra crossing, and looking both ways, waiting for the lights to change (I thought dogs were colour blind?) etc. Amazes me every time.
On the other hand, you do see LOTS of animals hobbling on 3 legs with one really twisted limb, and almost every street cat I’ve seen has a kink in its tail etc etc. Many of them are very definitely getting hit.
The kink in the tail is due to inbreeding…

if that is true, isn’t it interesting how nature provides a small indicator that something just isn’t right?

Inbreeding within family results in babies with horns.
That’s so cool. Care to document that with a link? ![]()

That must have hurt big time.

Huh? Not at all.

About the shoes:
I had an accident some 25 years ago, crashed my Triumph Spitfire into an oncoming car that suddenly swerved onto my lane. Car broke in two and afterwards I remember that my shoes actually were still on the break and throttle pedal. I was sitting on my socks outside the car. ![]()

For a “link” check the photo on the front page of Thursday’s China Post, showing literally THOUSANDS of shoes on site after the Iraq stampede. True, there are a lot more people there wearing slip-on sandal-type shoes which will come off a lot easier, but nevertheless.
