In Taiwan the man is expected to take care of the family by providing money for the basics. (Food, house, car, ect), I would expect in the USA is the same.

Not sure but in the US women live in the 21st century.
Except that more and more men are walking away from relationship prospects altogether. Dating was hard enough with men taking on all the risk of approaching, asking, paying, and then supporting the woman before even getting married.
Wirh the advent of online and app-based dating and the generational wave of divorced men who are crushed in divorce and family court losing most - if not all - of their physical assets, earned wealth, homes, cars, and access to their children it makes for a very imbalanced prospect with far more risk than rewards.
