Youtubers in Taiwan

Topher is an English teacher. Cole probably was one as well? Not sure.

And doesn’t speak any chinese? is it that guy?

I think Cole speaks Chinese pretty well.

Allen from life in Taiwan didn’t speak much Mandarin when he first started his channel despite having lived in Taiwan for a while, but his Mandarin really picked up in the last few years. Anyway, they are all doing way better than locals who can’t speak a sentence of Taigi or count to 10 in Paiwan.

Really? is it another guy then? pretty sure i watched a video of his where he explains he doesn’t speak any chinese. Allen has lived here for over 10 years and seemingly never studied, his chinese should be better.

I could be mistaken. I heard him speak a couple words in a food video, not full sentences, but from that his pronunciation sounds pretty decent. Some expat youtubers only sprinkle a couple of Mandarin words here and there in their videos, but in reality actually speak the language really well. So that was just my assumption.

Who are your favourite foreign YouTubers in Taiwan? What do you think about them? Have you met any in person?

This thread is pretty similar.

Anyway, my absolute favorites are Hikelopedia and xiaofei.

I also watch Ku’s Dream and Elizabeth on a regular basis because they have episodes with really high production value.

Don’t worry. Taiwan loves Youtubers. All he has to do is go to a night market and eat some stinky tofu then comment on how he doesn’t like the taste. Many Taiwanese would subscribe.

Then after that he can start claiming he made “special contributions” to Taiwan and how he should get a gold card and dual nationality.

I hope he does. I need money suing when he inevitably insults me for confronting him and his antics.
