But do seeing women in such pictures objectify them as sexual objects because we are focusing on their sexual organs?
Or is a woman being hypersensetive to such an observation? Or is this the silent revolution to get a man’s forum?

I guess I’d rather see it generally confined to NSFW threads or even “almost NSFW” threads, rather than avatars which can pop up (ahem) anywhere.

I have to agree with DB here. It IS getting pretting difficult to browse these forums at work these days.
Maybe we should wish for a button for turning off the avatars for use in work environment???

With firefox you could block images if needed from work (just a mini solution if you’re really having a problem there.)

The crotch shot is a bit over the line IMHO. The bouncing boobies is nice but after a while…several hours anyway…they get old.

When I saw the topic title, I thought it was about avatars like Comrade Stalin’s flashing avatar, is my imagination too boring ?
Or even selectively, like a clean, family-friendly 'mosa option? The admins could set a flag on any offensive avatar (or poster?) and then you could select an option in your preferences to turn off those selectively. Just dreaming, of course.

I don’t think my wife would see much of a difference. I can, and I’m certainly glad you can too. 
Either way. I still think it’s a bit much, not to mention adolescent, but I’m an old fart.
We seem to always go through these “pushing the avatar envelope” periods on this site.
I would prefer not confusing this site with a porno site though on a glance. But then again, we are all very different people, and have different standards and tastes and senses of humor.

I’m gonna have to agree with this. I hate to think what people think I’m reading when they see some of these avatars.
Since I was argued that Erhu’s avatars were not acceptable I have to agree that these bouncing Betties aren’t either. Really, it was pretty embarrassing today to open up any thread that had taiwansaffie or whoever involved. It’s not a question of PC, or prudeness, but simply recognizing that this sight is not just viewed at home by adult males and females during their leisure hours.
You guys raise some good points. Do you think you could PM the people and ask them nicely to replace their avatar with something which won’t raise eyebrows in your office? I think we can agree that these avatars aren’t pornographic in the common sense of the word, just inappropriate. I’m sure that a polite request will produce the desired results. I really don’t want to have to put myself or the moderators in the position of regulating good taste - I’m sure that I would err on the side of the bouncy girls…
