Leaving company before contract expires APRC holder

Hi all,

I am a happy APRC (+Open Work Permit) holder recently. And I am about of quitting my current work. My employer told me there is still special procedure applied when foreigner quits a company before contract expiration. According to his words, the procedure includes reporting to the Government the reason of quit.

Does my employer really have to report to the Government my quitting and its reason?
Doesn’t my Open Work Permit give me and my employer right to don’t report to the Government about my work movements?

Thanks!

Don’t think so, I call BS!

The health and labor insurance people will want to know, if I’m not mistaken. Also, the employment insurance people will want to know, if you have a Taiwanese spouse.

I would suggest that the employer contact the local labor department for a clarification.
