Anyone using this? It’s an app where anyone can have their own live video stream.
Seems popular in Taiwan. I’ve been on for a couple months. There are other similar apps popping up all over the world.
First question: Why does everyone have a big microphone at their desk at home? It looks like something you would see in a recording studio but many people on live.me have them. What is it?
I believe the proper term is a “narcissism stick.” 
I’m not using it, but I know “17值播” is one of the most popular ones amongst locals.
It just got 1000x easier to make some money off of videos. A friend’s wife goes live and says she makes a few thousand NT per showing because viewers can buy her things. Not sure what the extent of the gifts are, but seems somewhat effortless to get gifts.

Yes it’s a moneymaker if you can get people to watch you and send you smiley face and hearts.
They brag that millions of US dollars have been distributed to people just but clicking like. You don’t even need to sell anything.
I still don’t know why Taiwan people on this app have big microphones but no one else in the world does.
To be honest, shitty sound is one of the quickest ways of losing people on streaming media, most live streamers on services like twitch and YouTube have good quality mic’s to avoid this. I guess this is the same for this app.
To be honest, most people go for better looks and could not care less about the sound.
But besides that, a simple Apple or Samsung headphone sounds just fine and actually sounds extremely good if the person talking has a good voice

this is definitely one thing i don’t understand about the new generation… watching others stream their boring life… i can understand facebook and wasting away on phone games but this is another level and i just don’t get it.

Gaming streamers are also popular. Kids these days don’t even play games, they watch others play games.
Shows you how dumb the average guy has become these days watching narcissistic girls prance around on a video. It’s not even like they are going to see any action and if they pay money they are even dumber than I first thought.
sure i understand the streamers point of view. i don’t understand the people watching. and watching a girl who doesn’t get naked? its simple maths, don’t waste your time. you don’t even get the chance to jack off.
