Despite having quite a large number of gay friends, I’m actually not sure what the prevailing attitude toward the term queer is. My understanding is that it’s basically been superseded by the slightly more specific term LGBT (sometimes LGBTQ, with the Q being queer, so we’re sort of working in circles there).
