Is anyone aware of something like the Roku but for Taiwan?
Back in the UK the Roku gets you access to the numerous free on-demand services like iPlayer and 4od. Are there equivalent on-demand services here (free and subscription) and is there a Roku-type box that can play them?
Bonus point from my father-in-law if it has access to mainland television as well.
Don’t know if you are still looking, but this is the closest. It is more of an Android box ( whereas Roku is limited to Roku channels). The downside is it doesn’t have “Roku Channels”, but you can install Kodi and have access to channels ( not Roku ) through there. Plus you can install a browser ( so you can watch streaming from webpages that offer it ) and also Apps ( One App I have installed on my Android box - not this box - is from my local TV news station from back home. I can watch the news live or recorded ) . The box also supports YouTube - you can get live channels off of that
