Taiwanese woman gets Best Job in the World?

Forget about Janet, here comes … Clare!

You can also find how she and the others are doing at http://www.islandreefjob.com

Pretty good application video; got my vote.

Except you’re missing the point.
Even IF she wins the voting, there are still 10 other people that have already been pre-selected that she has to go up against during a 3 day interview in Oz.
She’s got a chance to make it that far, but after that it’ll get tougher,as all of Taiwan can’t vote for her then.

Well done, Clare! Jia you, hope it works out for you. :rainbow:

She seems like a strong candidate. Now (sounding very shallow here I know) if she looked like MT’s avatar, then??? We could maybe expect victory? Although that pic of the candidate in her swim suit looked pretty good. Maybe she shouldve put a bit wearing one in her intro clip?

Sex sells.

That’s why the Russkie is close behind…Blondes sell also.

Yet the weird thing is that whenever you travel to isolated scenic spots with Taiwanese, the most common comment you hear from them isn’t. “wow, how beautiful” but rather, " I feel lonely".

HG

or 'huh, where are the lights, it’s dark and scary!"

She obviously isn’t aware she’ll be miles from the nearest juice and fried chicken arse stand.

…so cynical in one so middle-aged… i would have thought the absence of stinky tofu would be the real problem, mind…

Yes, but is she going to wear high heels to the beach and carry an umbrella everywhere, or maybe not even go out in the sun at all?

Put the stereotypes back in the closet, boys, as she’s quite obviously not one of them. She doesn’t even use a Hello Kitty voice, for a start.

You guys are just jealous.

good luck to her.

There’s always the risk that the interview process could go the way of the ill fated Taiwan version of that Fear Factor game show, where everything went great until the contestants had to swim… Like lemmings into the deep end… :runaway:

I think I caught a glimpse of a giant Elmo doll in the corner of her video.

I think she’s kind of cute, but she has enough votes that she doesn’t need me so I’m backing Nila!!

and her closest rival, the blonde Russian girl, has just been entangled in a PORN controversy. as in, done it, and taught others how to do it… hmmm. maybe she IS the one who will be selected, then. this is Queensland we’re talking about. “Sleazy one day, sleazier the next.”

more news from the salacious spectacle that is the “pimp yourself for the best PR person we can find” job hunt: a disgruntled housewifey canadian type, who missed out on selection (along with 30,000 others, the poor dear), complained that the selection process was sexist and ageist, and skewed towards those good-looking under-35s or even under 30s with prior TV experience.

Well, D’uh. what did you expect?

But even if the Taiwanese girl wins the wild card vote, this does NOT mean she gets the job.
I guess no-one else can really beat her in the wild card vote, as she’s ahead with over 80,00 votes so…
She’s going to end up going to the interview in Queensland, but then she’s going to be one of 11 people that gets interviewed, which I guess is still a good chance.
Now one question, IF she was to get the job, would Taiwanese TV post TV-crews down there to follow her around all day and report live on what she’s up to? I guess that wouldn’t be too popular with the Queensland tourism board

 Some day, some genius will figure out the blog’s ghostwritten too!

‘Caretaker’, hmm? They should have advertised for a forestry manager, or former national park manager, zoologist or marine biologist, shurely?

Well, if they get bored they can always send in a group of starved Taiwanese news reporters to trip her up and try to make her have a nervous break down ~ they seem pretty good at that.
