It’s coming up this week. Does anyone know what it was like in previous years? Is it like amazon prime day?
What are some good foreigner friendly websites to take advantage of it? Shopee, momo, pchome are what I read.

They had a discount for items on Taobao, and I missed it (I had no idea what it meant). I ended up buying something for 2500 yuan that would have been 2000 had I waited for the day.
Doesn’t matter for me because I don’t have the money to take advantage of it, and plus depending on the item, the discount isn’t all that much (not enough to take out a loan just to do it).
You would have had an extra 500 yuan had you done a little planning!
At the time last year I had no idea what 11/11 was. I thought it was something I got later on or had to enter a code.
Isn’t the whole thing a scam to begin with?
Aren’t all of these days just commercial traps?
Wait, being single is a scam?
All this time I thought I had it made…
Guy
Being single means you get scammed all the time, small portions demand higher prices.

Two years ago I had bought a S8 for $16k on PCHome in Oct (accidentally put my phone through the wash) that was then $10k on 11/11.
This year I’m hoping to score a deal on an iPhone 11 (guess we’ll see if it’s discounted or not)
A few tricks for apple…
I heard if you leave the item in the cart it will be discounted slightly when you come back.
Also there’s educational discount. It’s about 1000nt off for iPad air 4. I think all you need is a edu email address.
I’ve never made use of it.
But if you can figure out the Chinese (I can’t), here’s what Costco’s got (with a fair bit of English) …
https://www.costco.com.tw/WOW-COUPON-ITEMS/c/Hero_wowitem
And Carrefour (almost no English):
https://online.carrefour.com.tw/Events-old/1111runpart2/index.html
TKEC / “Yellow Box 3C” current deals, although I’m not sure how much that’s actually connected to Single’s Day:
https://events.tk3c.com/events_net/202011tk3c_vip/index.html?ec=idx-topbn&_ga=2.138285872.1618226436.1604918634-1261890380.1604918634
I assume the only way to make use of this kind of deal is keep track of prices for a while, see if it actually gets cheaper during the special (rather than being jacked up a month earlier, then “dropped” for the sale), and then buy. If you haven’t been tracking prices, don’t bother.
22% off site-wide at iHerb. But good luck finding what you want in stock.
Oh I know, but it’s often the kind of English where even with my crap Chinese I have better luck understanding the Chinese than I do the English.
Costco has some good unadvertised prices like airpods for 4089 (and pro’s also discounted). Wasn’t looking for anything besides that, but there must be more.
Checking out Costco today, the only tricky thing will be carrying the stuff home since they don’t deliver, but it someone wants to share and rent a van and drive around grabbing deals I’m down.
Costco does deliver. Go in and ask for business delivery. You don’t have to be a business. Costs $350 in KHH anyway, as much as you want. If you are buying enough, you can even get somebody to come on the floor with you as you point things out.
They don’t do cash on delivery, and they only accept their branded credit card. So if you don’t have a Costco credit card you can’t do it.
I have a Costco American membership card and cash, I will give it a try. No taiwan bank yet or any local credit cards.
