What amazes me is that these 2 were the subject of a 4-year investigation and are only being arrested now. That means that they were put under surveillance on Bush’s watch, yet Bush never did anything about them.
This is not jibing well with my image of Bush as a man who put people into prison for no reason, just saying.

I’d hate to improve your image of that bastard in chief, but it seems like those two jokers are pretty low level stooges, it make sense that the FBI or CIA or whoever was monitoring them would keep them out and about so they could find bigger fish and uncover bigger plots and discover communications and money links and stuff. From the limited amount of info here, it didn’t seem like these two guys were an immediate threat, especially not to the US, so maybe it’s better to let them run around, observed closely, for a couple years, see where they take you.
Or maybe I’ve seen one (or a hundred) too many terrorism shows…
