8-digit (not 9-digit) ID number in old ROC passport

Actually im thinking bet.that 1 passport photos from ruten like tando said and the other 2 was posted by tando actually its 3 by tando i mean that 3 photos im pretty sure is a taiwanese with household registration and i was confused and why your fathers passport have hand-written letter and a numbers in first page and the last but my grandparents and this 3 photos dont have also any hand-written from first page and last page…its cumbersome most specially for overseas chinese to come to taiwan just to find and show this kind of documents for the HHR and it will be frustrated if they find out that there is non hhr or national id.number on it in the documents

I don’t know for sure, but that company MONTORU that I linked to above may be able to help you even if you don’t travel to Taiwan. From their webpage, I think they have an office in Taiwan and they are willing to do some tasks for you in Taiwan (like travel to the Taiwanese BOCA to get documents authenticated for you) even if you cannot travel to Taiwan yourself. Therefore, it might be worth contacting that company and asking if they can help you look up your relative’s information, even if you cannot travel to Taiwan.

the museum site collects several passports, and gives description on them. it seems at least passports in 1974 and 1975 (maybe 1969 – 1977 version) didnt have printed ID numbers. 1989 (1980 – 1995 version) already had the ID printed.
