I am a student at a Swiss highschool. This spring I will graduate and part of the exams is a paper I have to write. The topic of my paper are the political relations between Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China. This paper is designed to prepare students for university and should teach using scientific methods. Therefore I am required to have a “practical part” which can consist of something like an experiment, an interview or a survey. I have decided to make a survey to examine the sentiments people have regarding cross-strait relations. The survey
I would be glad if at least some people would take part in my survey. It doesn’t take long and you don’t have to be worried about answering wrong as the questions are designed to examine your feelings. Of course the data will be anonymized
If someone would be willing to answer some more questions, you can leave your contact information in the survey or just post a comment here.
Wouldn’t your survey be tainted if you poll a bunch of foreign expats?
If I was to guess, a higher percentage of expats view independence favorably. But many like myself already see Taiwan as an independent sovereign nation. A Independence referendum seems to suggest Taiwan is not independent.
I would like to offer my opinion about your survey. Most people on this forum are foreigners. In order to not skew your survey all that much, I would probably add a ‘Foreign Resident of Taiwan’ option and some of us don’t currently live in Taiwan either but have ties to the country.
Also, the Reddit r/Taiwan page should also be helpful in looking for extra people to help do your survey. But people here are largely foreigners. If anyone else knows extra resources of which are of use that might have more Taiwanese people as well. then I’m sure that would be helpful.
I don’t think he or she would know that yet. This is their first post.
How can one be other than the options of Taiwanese, Chinese, Taiwanese and Chinese, and foreigner? Does other include people who have an additional nationality to Taiwanese or Chinese?
