We’e running an evening marathon in Xiaobitan tomorrow, but desperately need somewhere to shower after. Any sports-centres nearby? Somewhere we can buy a shower?
There’s a few hotels around Bitan, you might have to rent a room though.
There’s a World Gym I think above the Carrefour at Qizhang (one MRT stop from Xiobitan). Don’t know if they allow showers dor walk-ins though.

Hotels around Bitan do short term room rental, most by the hour. Try the California right beside the MRT and Bus station, bit of a walk from Xiaobitan though. http://www.new-california.com.tw/en/about.php . Another option may be the pool/spa complex on the riverside in front of the RT Mart, not sure on pricing or even if it’s still open after the typhoon.
This has to be a serious proper shower! Wet wipes and camping soap won’t cut it. Pool/spa sounds a better idea than hourly hotel, pay for a swim or something.

I just saw a news story last week about all the public showers in Taipei area that cost only like NT$50. Can’t find the news story…
There’s a sign at Q Square (Taipei Main Station) for showers upstairs. Obviously that’s a bit far from Xindian though…
Was this the night run that you ran in? If so, how did you like it?
I did the 21k and it was pretty fun.
In the end we cabbed it to the riverside Happyworld (!), 300NT (think that’s the one near the RT Mart) and got a shower there. Maybe a little bit pricey, the place was nothing special, but it did the job.
It was the night run we did, 21k. I kind of enjoyed it although the 2nd circuit got a bit crazy with all the 10k runners in the dark. Would rather have started an hour earlier, 5.30. By the time we were done and showered and at Xindian it was 10pm.
