Hope these new changes can help people on the boards -maybe someday we can extend this as vice versa to our parents?
The Cabinet is set to review today the proposal from the Ministry of the Interior to revise the immigration regulations.
After being ratified by lawmakers, the new rules will allow the unmarried adult children of qualified foreigners to apply for the resident status directly in Taiwan.
The qualified foreigners include foreign investors, corporate representatives, senior executives and technical experts or other professionals who have already gained the resident status or permanent resident status.
After giving its approval, the Cabinet will forward the draft revision of the rules to the Legislative Yuan for ratification.

This will be great news IF properly implemented. Does anyone have a link to the original Chinese text? Sometimes important details to new rules get lost in translation. Any additional info by those in the know would be appreciated.
