Jeezus this report is alarming. It zeroes in on a team of fraudsters first exposed by Swedish media, who shared their findings with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (among others), who analyzed fraudster conversations to locate victims, in this case folks in Ontario and Quebec.
Two key points emerge in this fraudster scheme: the use of AI generated videos (presented by the CBC starting around the 5:30 mark in the video below) which are then spread around on f-book which has apparently become a fraudster playground.
