Google flights (which I use to track aircraft types, seat pitch, etc, along with pricing) indicates that the MH flight in question is “often” late. So this seems habitual on this route or with this company.
The cart satay service you mentioned on the other hand does sound intriguing.

I’ve always liked Air Asia for short flights under 5 hours or so. Simple to buy, simple to fly. Except when their airport is not the main airport and far away from final destination. Sometimes the airport is closer than main airport though so.
All the airlines I have seen depart from TPE and arrive at KUL. Is there another regional airport option in Kuala Lumpur I am unware of?

The Air Asia terminal in KL is (was?) not part of the main airport complex. It feels like walking through a big new warehouse, not an airport terminal. But it works and efficient enough. And changing airlines can be a hassle. Might have to walk/run to bus in whatever weather might be happening at the moment.

They are pre-packaged, not bad actually and authentic malay. I aways get one because.
