New American Airlines Business Class Seats Debuting In 2025

Seats look nice, but still unless it is much cheap price, i would choose their One world partners like Cathay Pacific or JAL , or FinnAir in Europe.

American’s service is worse than Alaskan Air as well as the food, (Alaskan is One world partner too)

I vowed 30 years ago never to fly AA again. I’m good at keeping my vowes.

American Air plane on fire

American Airlines jet burns as passengers evacuate onto wing

What the hell is going on? We had airplane incidents enough for a whole year in just 2 and a half months.

DOGE

DOGE

Yes it’s a complete fucking sentence

Yes, seems more than normal (seems so, not sure it’s really more)

Have only made 4 flights on American a couple years ago when I went to a friends sons wedding

It was to Alabama and included a stop and change of planes

Heard so much bad shit about American I almost wanted to rebook with another airline

But all four flights were on time and planes were clean and crew was fine

It was just as good as virgin America
4 good flights

I would not hesitate to book American again

Been a while since I flew AA in international business, but recently flew the newer 787-9 AA business seats (super diamond config) discussed in the article (I’m a Delta guy these days, but for this itinerary, Delta was going to cost $30k more to fly the fam. :joy:   ). Did not love it, at all - I found the foot area confirming in lay flat config and a strange bump on the floor which was not symmetrical and annoying when sitting up. Prefer the older Concept D config (which some people absolutely hate).

Which route did you fly? Was thinking fly them from Japan via USA (few days stop in Arizona, one of thier bases) to Europe.

Don’t want to say specifically in a post (will DM you details (but US - Europe).

Only time I’ve ever enjoyed flying a North American airline (Air Canada fucking blows) was a United flight from Houston to Quito in Ecuador. One of the stewardesses was like a 6’2 clone of Phoebe Gates.

Now, let’s baseline here - did not love the seat, but it was still generally enjoyable. Flight attendants were pleasant and attentive, food was good, and it’s still a decent lie flat herringbone product (which isn’t that different from any other herringbone lie flat - ie what everyone else has (they’re all based on the same 2/3 designs)). Family liked the seat enough - I think if you’re 6’+, less enjoyable.

On the negative side, wine list was lacking (champagne was good though (Bollinger special cuvee)), IFE options was only ok (worse than delta domestic), and wifi wasn’t free (!). Lounges were mixed like most American lounges - baseline lounges were eh, but flagship lounge was good.
