Good news, but non connection to EVA or ANA Or CA as they use Malpensa, maybe they can move to LIN or Roma.
Though too many alternatives for me 1.Rail is decent ,.well expected few non working days. 2. Ryan Air is often the cheapest option by a lot 3. Automobile, rental rates mostly good but still tolls and sometimes the speed toll.
I think the codeshare flights still need separate agreement intra-alliance.
Ryanair it’s really a mixed bag, depending on the time and if you need a checked bag, for the “full” package often is as expensive (if not more) than legacy carriers. But if you want to really at odd times and travel light, then yeah, it’s cheaper
Ryan Air is good for me for business trips (non Roma), as sometimes day trip (for a meeting) and no bags, and the early morning flights work for me and stay in same place (no new hotel). I also like Bergamo (location), and unlike ITA they do fly out of Malpensa. (connect sometimes to ANA/EVA other airlines). I do want try the lounges of ITA though (all four? is that what they have??)
4 official: 2 at FCO (one schengen side, one extra schengen, which is the largest), one at LIN (which is interesting as they have a section looking like the inside of an airplane) and the smallest (and worst) one at CTA. I am missing only the extra-schengen one at FCO, I liked the one at LIN quite a lot.
Not my expereince a few days ago. No questions at SFO (entry point), I think did not even open the passport (scan?), only words are , move to take photo/finger , and welcome to San Francisco, flying in via Japan. You want mess, fly into Italy now with EES (or a lot of the EU, except Finland which took a minute), the immigration machines are slow/ not working right now. I would more warn Euro travellers for very long waits.
It’s hilarious because the Italian customs agents hate it so much. The used to not even look at my passport and just go to the stamp page and move us along.
We saw our friends who is a immigration lawyer with his own firm and his wife who’s a doctor. He was telling me how business is good because people are more worried but the reality is so far from what’s on the news. His clients aren’t being dragged away like @Marco is trying to portray.
You wouldn’t even know anything’s changed and that seems to be your experience and ours too with my partner coming in as a foreign visitor.
It’s less problematic in states like Texas that actually work with ICE because ICE doesn’t really need to go around. Local authorities work with ICE and the friction is low. It’s always the states that refuse to work with ICE and sanctuary cities that have problems.
