The hype is for Q suites and Doha lounges. Otherwise for econ hope you got cheap price, Qatar has lower prices in the lower class, if not cheaper I fly Cathay or Finn Air.
This may be due to @MalcolmReynolds posting all those swimsuit photos during the COVID emergency. ![]()

Did you ask any of the airline hostesses to wipe your butt like that one morbidly obese dude did on EVA a few years ago? ![]()
Maybe we’re one Dirty Sanchez over the line.
from Italy or Qatar? Anyways, looks great. (always great food choices and very nice lounges)
This picture is from Doha to HK. But Rome to Doha had good food options too.
I will do well to remember to pre book. This time I had a few options not available with everyone picking it.
I’m excited to see how the new CEO will change QR.
I was a lowly peasant at the back of the plane, but even back there I thought Qatar’s food was great! My meals were light and bright and delicious.

Seems already good, not many changes needed. The food you get four meals + lounge (and in city which has good food too!) is really too much to eat and drink.
So I finally made it over to the Qatar 1st class lounge Al Safwa in Doha. It’s only accessible for 1st class and only QR platinum status flying business. Interestingly it’s not open to other equivalent oneworld emerald status.
The lounge is comically large for no apparent reason but to be big. Literally a journey from one side to the other walking. It’s incredibly beautiful and has basically a mini museum with ancient artifacts on display. Food was excellent.
But I found the behaviors of some of the people here disturbing. I was waiting for the showers. 2 people in front of me. Some people that came after me were literally throwing temper tantrums like children. Grown ass men and women. This one women could not operate the showers on her own for some reason and requested the staff to come help her. (It’s not complicated at all)
The quiet rooms were there too with beds for sleep and people were literally saying stuff like “what and I suppose to do with a 9 hour layover” like the staff would kick someone else out to make rooms of something.
There is a hotel in the airport. They clearly have enough money to be here and get that if they wanted.
I feel bad for the staff dealing with people who have never been told no in their lives.
There are very nice hotels in town at not high cost (very cheap if you use stopover package). Its fast in and out of the airport, business class check in areas are very nice. Super nice metro connects the airport and not so expensive Taxi ride about EUR30-35. They kept the old town section of Doha which is nice visit for this season.
