It seems they are trying the South Runway now. First EVA failed, second touched down.
The Captain cops a “please explain” for late arrival, and no doubt for diverts too. Remember the theories that abounded as to why SQ006 even tried to depart that night back in 2000 during a Typhoon.
I’m not sure that’s reassuring phrasing.

Conditions at the airport seem to have improved, no more drama, nothing to see, we can go home now. 
There is even a bit of a sunset going on.
Having said that EVA183 had some serious shake up there.
Now comes the 711.
