That’s if you have egate.
I often had to wait a long time when travelling with overseas visitors due to large tour groups clearijg immigration .
Egate is still relatively fast but they need to open more now as many Taiwanese use it.
Was it duty free luxury water?
It was duty free.
Absolutely. I’ve cut it close a couple times and made it door to gate in like 20 25 min in a rush. Easily the most efficient airport I’ve ever used.
BTW, ‘duty free’ doesn’t mean cheaper.
Ever wonder why, after years of “upgrades” and “renovations,” TPE Terminal 2 is still a dump? Taoyuan prosecutors may have some answers:

went to thailand at the weekend. the don meueng airport actually made me take back almost everything bad i’ve ever said about taoyuan aiport. what a sad little shit box that airport is!
the food options were still better than post security terminal one though…
Interesting read on terminal 3…wonder if the 3rd round of bidding went ok…
Looking forward to this in a few years.
That airport was actually closed going to be torn down at one time but then the budget airlines got a hold of it. Had a little beautification since then but it’s still old.
Figures. And I had said it like 50 posts before. It is the only way this nightmare has been going so long and doing so bad. I mean, they can´t even steal well…
Hopefully no glitches!

Just tried, super fast. Used my ARC. Smooth. T2
Han Kuang military drills this summer will reportedly involve airport defence drills. These drills are scheduled to affect Taoyuan International Airport on July 25 this year. If you’re flying out of or into TPE that day, there may be delays, especially in the 10:00 am - 11:00 am window.
I’ll see if I can find a Songshan Airport thread as that airport will be affected, apparently on July 23.

Hopefully TSA not affected on 25th, flying to HND on that day!
The answer seems to be “maybe not affected.”

Not sure where else to ask this so I’m posting it here.
Does anyone know the status of the Evergreen bus from Taipei to Taoyuan Airport? I’m flying out from there soon. My first post-covid trip. I went out to the usual stop I used to catch it at and took a picture of the schedule. Google Translate wasn’t all that good but seemed to indicate that it may have ceased operations (bus 5203) in October 2020. This would account for my not knowing anything of this as my last flight was January 2020. This was my favorite bus line to the airport for many years. I’d be disappointed if it’s gone.
Anyone know anything about this? I guess the MRT line would have to be the other choice but the one time I tried it I didn’t like it. There should be other buses to the airport but my Google searches aren’t coming up with much.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, that confirms it. I used to catch it right in front of the Evergreen Hotel. It’s an MRT stop or two away from Taipei Main Station. There must be other buses from there but seems one might as well take the airport line from there. I wonder if Covid killed this service. Too bad. Thanks again.
