Alabama good place to live, in 2026 seems richer than Canada?

At our company had a job posting there before , I thought it was a poorer place in USA so did not think of it, but now it seems richer? Is living costs still cheaper there?

Now does it seem that GDP higher than Canada (rich place)? House seems cheaper there than taiwan, in Alabama?

This has to be the most braindead article I have ever seen.

I’ve heard that Alabama makes a pretty sweet home :whistle:

Might be worse than Arkansas

@qbert ?

The houses might be cheaper, but they’re located away from where the jobs are.

Canada dnt refine / process their natural resources…. A pity. Cld be far richer.

Soon might be absorbed as another state…

Godammit

You considering a move to AL?

Alberta would be a mid to top ranked state in GDP per capita.

Gdp per capital is probably a lousy metric of how well the state is a doing as I bet a lot of the profit from the economic production doesn’t actually stay in state.

Alabama itself… fuck. Huntsville isn’t bad, propped up by federal contracts, and Birmingham has some history and charm. Otherwise, the state is pretty much its reputation, which isn’t good. But yea, you can buy a cheap house there. Make sure you can get running water before closing.

The best thing that can be said for Alabama is it isn’t Mississippi.
