My kid wants a piano. I looked online and discovered that this is decent and not too expensive, but can’t find this one. Does anybody know where I can find one?

You can also rent a decent Yamaha upright for ~$600/mo which I’d highly recommend if your kid is serious about learning piano.
You can find Alesis Prestige Artist in Taiwan. I think it is better than the Pro at around the same price. It has graded action (feels more like real piano). Some Piano shops may be able to order it for you. You can probably find it on Shopee too.
I found one shop that actually has this model for viewing, but I did not like their attitude. Let me know if you want the address.
I recently bought a Kawai piano from here and they had one of the best prices and good attitude:

They sell Roland too, but not sure about Alesis.
I’ve got a Yamaha and like it very much. Has replaced my old Roland stage model. The P45 is about 20k. You can plug an iPad into it and run Yamahas tutorials or plug in Garageband and kick out the jams.
I got myself a cheap Yamaha recently, just to try it out. Definitely not for ambitious students, but I think for a beginner that instrument is good enough.
What did I pay again, I think NT$6,000 or so.
Yes, the P45 came up when I searched for starter pianos. The recital pro and p45 were what I narrowed it down to. The recital pro is cheaper though. In other countries at least.
She is a complete newbie but she has been asking for a while. I keep flip flopping between spending five or six on a keyboard or 20k on the p45.
If she does stick with it, then I’ll have to upgrade from the keyboard fast anyway. If I spend 20k and she drops it after a few weeks, it will piss me off.
The main difference between the keyboard and the p45/recital pro seems to be the weighted keys.
This one is not the pro. The difference being the weighted keys, I think. Maybe it doesn’t make a difference as she is only a beginner?
If she is serious and if she plans to take lessons it matters a lot. If she just wants to play a bit and have a toy then unweighted is fine. If you are not planning to pay for lessons you might as well go this route, as she will not learn to play properly.
How about the idea somebody else offered of renting a piano? We also used to rent for several years at 600/month and you get a great upright acoustic piano. If you have the space I definitely recommend that. Or, if you are planning to pay for lessons, let her take lessons outside the home twice per week for a few months and see how she likes that first.
I’d imagine the Yamaha sampling technology is superior too. They sample every string on a concert grand multiple times. Nice reverb too.
