Ancient Guam inhabitants closely related to the Pangcah (Amis) people

My speculation is hardly a theory.

Boats of people got around somehow. Maybe they had alien technology!

Is this further speculation?

The Norse got to North America.

That they did!

Guam is pilipino

Just go and you know…

CHamorro people are Austronesian speakers.

Languages spoken in what is now the Philippines are also Austronesian.

That does not mean that CHamorro people in Guam are Filipinos!

Jeezus man, up your posting game, please. :joy:

All right, but I feel what was being communicated here was “Guam seems Filipino”, which you could have used your points of knowledge on the matter to agree with, whilst still making it clear that the two peoples are not entirely the same. Or maybe that’s what you were doing?

Not knowing anything about this I just looked it up and found a survey saying that the number of Filipinos on Guam is almost the same as the number of CHamorro people that you mentioned.

When the first CHamoru got to Guam 3500 years ago, they either got there from the Philippines or Taiwan. Back then it probably would have made very little difference either way, since the Austronesian expansion had just began, and the peoples, cultures and languages were still very similar on both sides of the Bashi channel.
