I can. They sleep in the streets and don’t move when cars go by. Crunch.
I may sound unpopular in saying this, but I really think the traps exist because of Taiwan’s gun laws.
They likely laid those traps for pigs, which are dangerous as heck and destructive too. But since we’re not allowed weapons that can score a clean kill on them, traps is the answer as to how you can kill them safely.
I think traps aren’t popular in the US when guys could shoot them with a 30-06 and kill them instantly. That and game wardens there would have a word with you if you laid them.
I thought about this too. But I’m seeing dogs in mountain areas recently with a limp, sometimes with a missing part of leg. Would there be any chance that their owners are inflicting this damage on their dogs so that don’t run too far off or for some other reason I can’t think of?

Slave owners did it, but I doubt it. That kind of cruelty doesn’t seem like it would be shared throughout the community.
Furthermore, the hobblers I see are always hanging out with four wheelers, so why wouldn’t they all be maimed? I doubt dog brains have the capacity to learn from the suffering of other dogs.
My bet is vehicles, traps, infection. In that order. Most dogs in the mountains are for security, you want them able to chase/hunt
