Annual Medical Exam

Maybe this is covered already someplace here.

I have/had the impression that an annual medical exam is basically free under NHI.

What is the truth?

I’ve previously been going to a private clinic and self-paying.

No way. You have some free cancer check depend your age and your gender.

You mean for your ARC or in general?

Not for any purpose other than just wanting a total body health check.

Ask the clinic doctor the rules. Over 50 or 55? there’s one every 2 or 3 years…I’ve had it a few times. They’ve always told me when.
Kids get tests when they move from elementary to JH and to HS----maybe twice in elementary.
As for cancer screening…you could get a stool test for cancer markers if you mention symptoms such as blood.
Men would get a prostate cancer blood test if being checked for prostate problems.
Women at a certain age get breast and cervical?
I read some time back that they would maybe be starting something for smokers.
New things are added each year so best to ask.
You’d also get a general blood panel every 3 or 6? months if you are on statins. That would be lipid profile, liver and kidney functions and a few other things.
Some drugs require certain periodic tests to continue the prescription.
