Well, two questions really…
- Where can I buy it? (I’m guessing B&Q)
- Anyone know the Chinese translation?
Thanks!

Thanks!
Maybe somebody else can give you the translation but a story is at hand. I painted a couple of walls in a recent home. I found a small paint store and found quarts of a tan acrylic low gloss. This stuff is awesome. No mold and it looked great. Don’t forget to buy some paint thinner if it is not water based. I added thinner but it took hours and the paint was pulling the fabric hairs from a roller. I would dilute it well and keep it that way. I used low gloss but they had medium and high gloss. If you can, get water based because it’s much easier to clean up and you save the cost of paint thinner as you can dilute with water. When you dilute, try to dilute enough to do a whole wall and break it at a corner. You may end up with a small color change which will look terrible if you don’t do the whole wall.
Also be careful about your landlord. I asked mine to paint the walls that I wanted painted and he told me that it was my responsibility. When I moved out, he and his wife inspected. Wife told me to put it back the way I found it. I explained to the husband that I would be happy to put the cheap paint back on over the good paint. He spoke briefly to his wife and she left a bit on the angry side. He told me “no problem” and handed me my deposit. Make sure they are ok with paint, even the color. Also, when you move out, make sure you get some spackle at the paint store and a small spatula. Fill the holes and touch up with leftover paint. No dramas. Good luck. It’s a good way to spend and eve with a bottle wine.

go to b&q, they have some in the paint section, it’s about 600-700 per quart. it’s sold amongst the reg stuff. good quality. no tricks. painted two coats in my son’s room, works like a charm. pretty easy to buy. even has english on the label.
Thanks for the follow-up. We don’t have a B&Q here, but we have similar shops and before long i’ll go and see whether any of them sells paint with Japanese terms (防黴, 黴防止塗料, 抗真菌塗料, etc.) or English terms (anti-mildew; anti-mould; protection, etc.) on the labels or if i find any of the Chinese that looks similar. In the meantime, asking doesn’t hurt: maybe someone will come across this question here who happens to know the characters i should be looking for (dictionaries generally present terminology that is used in China, and that is in many cases not the same as in Taiwan). ![]()

防菌漆 should do it. Look for the Dulux Fungushield brand http://www.dulux.com.tw/products/product_color_A921f.html
Thanks! Will try to hunt that down… ![]()
