I was prescribed Valdoxan and I had no idea what good it does. I started on it, then stopped when the doctor won’t give me 3 month prescriptions and I got sick of paying over 500 per visit to the hospital (it was previously 300 per visit last year, then the hospital just about doubled its copay for some reason).
I was previously taking lexapro and it was giving me very unhealthy dreams. Like I kept having dreams of being back in the states and the doctor switched to Valdoxan and klonapin. I initially took the klonapin daily but found out that benzos are really easy to get hooked on and I didn’t want to be dependent on them.
Also lexapro has a problem with quitting cold turkey and really needs to be tapered down properly, or else you will keep having weird symptoms including suicidal thoughts.
Does anyone know a cheaper psychiatric clinic in Taipei that charges under 300nt copay per visit?
There are rules about how much they can give you at a time. I go to a private (NHI) place once every six weeks and pay … 550? 600? I don’t remember. The Valdoxan is relatively expensive, since it’s a brand drug. Estazolam is generic and cheap.
I don’t remember what you shared so far in this thread. Do you exercise? I do two workouts each day on the weekends and on my days off. I find it helps a lot. Not always, but most of the time.
I also have a little wind down schedule every night that also helps. Massage chair, reading, magnesium at around 8 pm, putting the phone away at around 8:30-9, take the dog out for a slow stroll, and lying down next to my son and talking with him until he sleeps.
I always lie down with my kids until they sleep (or I do). My wife always tells me to stop spoiling them because they are getting older and they should go to bed by themselves. Fuck that.
The time we have when they will allow us to do that is limited. Also, my son opens up to me about issues he’s facing on some nights, and I provide the best advice I can.
One night, he told me he gets nervous during tests and sometimes can’t recall what he learned. I told him to no longer tell me what his test grades are and to just tell his mom. I told him, though, that he has to push himself and that he has a lot more smarts and drive than he believes. I made the comparison of how he pushed himself the last 500m of our hike when he thought his tank was empty, and ended up with a pr that day. Anyway, I didn’t look at his test scores, some pressure on him was relieved, and he did better on the recent mid terms (my wife told me secretly he got a B average, but I told her to say no more).
Hanging out with them when they’re young is something you will remember far more clearly than the kids will. Story time was the best for me. I read to him nearly every day of his life back then. 10,000 hours of quality time.
For me caffeine is the worst, just a little chocolate and my anxiety goes bad for a few day.
When is sunny in Taipei (when?) I feel way less anxiety and depress too.
Sorry if this is not the appropriate place to ask. I sometimes, very rarely, suffer from anxiety attacks that are a problem for me so I take the smallest dose of Xanax to help. Last time in Taiwan I went to the family medicine clinic in my local hospital and they easily gave me some but it’s not very convenient. Can a normal clinic also prescribe or must I go to a hospital?
I just told my friend how if there is a god he absolutely HATES me for some damn reason.
@Lorenzo specially Xanax - I’m not sure. Zoloft I get at a clinic. 150 for doctor appointment + 25 for one month of pills. You maybe could just bring an old package to a pharmacy. Not sure if they charge more without a doctor appointment though.
It depends on the drug. If you buy at the pharmacy you are paying for it. If you have it prescribed, nhi pays it. For some drug this can be huge savings.
I used Zoloft two years ago and most pharmacy’s would just sell it to me over the counter but some refused saying I needed a prescription. None of them would directly sell me Xanax though unfortunately. It was much cheaper to buy Zoloft in the pharmacy directly!
