I was just wondering if there any full-time YouTubers here. If so, would you willing to share your story? How did you start? What’s your backstory?
I’m asking because during Covid I pretty much watched all of the foreign YouTubers from Taiwan. With everyone being locked down and stuck at home I really appreciated being able to live vicariously through their videos.
Even now I still watch them regularly. It’s interesting to see their perspectives of Taiwan.
Where were you that you were locked down?
Well, it was more of a self-imposed lockdown. I just remember everyone being so scared to even go out. At least in the beginning the feeling was that if you got Covid, there’s a good chance you would die.
The most famourse ones went back to the states i remember.
Which ones was that? Most of the ones I followed are still there.

Primarily through chance, combined with restricted entry and contact tracing, we were very lucky in Taiwan to avoid lockdown. We had a fair amount of restrictions imposed on us, of course.
Mordeth13 used to post on here. I believe he’s a youtuber.
Taiwan handled it amazingly well.
Ironically, my in-laws were in Taiwan on an extended stay when the news just broke that an unknown virus from China was starting to spread. They figured it was just a matter of time before Taiwan would be hit hard. So they rushed back to the United States so they could be safe. 
The american couple who were given a gold card for Taiwan tourism promotion, even though their videos are entirely aimed at Taiwanese people and yea they were not even in Taiwan during covid. Can’t remember their names and would rather watch grass grow then watch their videos.

If I wanted to see a drunk foreigner (on his off time from working illegally at a kindergarten) eating stinky tofu at a night market while proclaiming that it is the best food ever… I’d consider watching them…
I also know of a famous YouTuber (won’t mention on here) who got done for a dui in Taiwan and quietly stopped posting.
I know of another more famous one who often gets into fights at bars due to his drinking problems and actually more recently nearly got himself into big trouble but got lucky enough to settle out of court.
Personally I like to go out and explore for myself.
Perhaps I could start a YouTube channel on what it is like to be a “white Taiwanese citizen with a Taiwanese passport” lol

Suchomimus lives in Taiwan but is from the UK. He’s been posting videos on the war in Ukraine. I know that he was on Forumosa at one point.

I only say that because he did a live stream once when he was totally plastered and yea he was extremely drunk. like spaced out talking gibberish to himself drunk. Seems like a nice guy besides that.
Well… the first one has completely stopped posting as he was deported. Still hasn’t posted to this day.
As for the next one I cannot confirm nor deny anything.
