Can anyone suggest a good restaurant to make a surprise b’day dinner?
Olala!: A fantastic French restaurant run by Mr. Paco:http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/feat/archives/2003/12/12/2003079325
Salt and Bread: A great Taiwanese owned Russian restaurant with a -25 degree vodka bar built in (more than 200 vodka varieties). Great food and a laugh with two floors, one slightly more upmarket and a lower floor with more of a European beer garten feel with Russian song and performance. Situated next to The Mall on Dunhua South Road. Approx Dunhua and Anhe, near to Carnegie’s but specifically on Dunhua South Road.
The MacDonalds at the arse-end of Sanchung 5 minutes before closing time. That’ll give her a surprise.
Anyone knows how to surprise someone. Go to Paris at the Landis and hand them the bill after you have finished dinner. ![]()
OK, seriously for the OP.
Olala! as sulavaca said or Paris 1930 at the Landis. But you haven’t told us what style you want. Or for that matter what you partner’s style is. If you want romantic then Olala! If you want to propose then Paris.
If you want the easy way just call Paco at Olala! and tell him it is your SO’s b-day and let him plan it. You and your SO will be happy.
Where is 914 for the “special touch”?
Depends on budget too. You can have a very nice dinner at En Vogue (Fuxing N. Rd.) without breaking the bank.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is why you live with a bunch of cats. ![]()
Just joking. No offense to Dragonbabe. ![]()
That answer is just like this one.
Boy, did I ever get spanked for it.

Get ready to be spanked again. Are you sure that link is correct?
Yep. It’s correct.

Strange, the link doesn’t work for me. But things are very strange right now with this site so maybe that is the problem.
It didn’t work at all? F.com has been hanging for me too. Pages taking a looong time to load.

What is the person’s favorite restaurant, or which restaurant has this person been wanting to try? Call the restaurant ahead of time, make the appropriate arrangements with the staff and make sure they know it’s a supplies party for the person so you will be footing the bill. If you really want to supplies the person, go to the restaurant ahead of time, decorate your table, etc…but of course, don’t let the person know.
I think it’s not a matter of “Any good restaurant to make a surprise b’day dinner?” because the restaurant doesn’t make the supplies, YOU do. You tell them, they do. You pay, they do. The mostest important thing is…what is the person’s favorite place? You want them to enjoy the food and atmosphere. If you end up going to a Thai restaurant and the person has never spoken highly of Thai food, that might not be the best choice.
And, the heart of supplies parties…bullshit like you’ve never bullshat before.
