Any suggestions on how to find out where my mother was buried in Taiwan?

I’d appreciate any comment or suggestions on how I could possibly find out where my mother was buried. Long story short, my parents filed for divorce when I was very young. I moved to the States with my father shortly after that, and have completely lost contact with my mother.

My father has passed away recently, and I have decided to look for my mother. However, I found out through a friend of hers that she had already passed away 10 years ago in Tainan.

At this point, I am just hoping that I could find her final resting place.

Sorry for your losses.

Taiwan has a very high cremation rate (above 90 percent), so your mother was probably not buried. Still, that’s just a technicality.

You might try calling some of the cemeteries/columbaria around Tainan.

One question, though: In 2009 you wrote “Both of my parents have past away,” which doesn’t fit at all with saying in 2025 that your mother died ten years ago and that your father passed away recently. Why the discrepancies?
