Good/bad things? General reputation, etc. Thanks
Not as a teacher, but I did a summer camp program for them for basketball. The kids are fine and the school seems nice. Nothing bad to say about them.
Itās been discussed a few times over the years, such as here. Hopefully itās improved. ![]()
Yes, I saw this. I want updated accounts from people who have actually worked there. Thank you.
Actually, I never got a response from the FB site either. I might be considered over qualified and not very suitable for some of the jobs with kids but it is strange to get no responses such as āthat position is now filled but weāll keep your resume on fileā.
Strange. They donāt seem to waste emails.
Update for anyone wondering about this school: dont do it. I used to work there and they are so poorly managed. The salary is fine i guess but you do have to sacrafice a lot of saturdays. The workload is insane. Educating the kids will always come second and putting on a show for the parents will always be first. They are constantly hiring and theres a reason why~
Interesting. I know someone who left a terribly mismanaged school to work there and she told me it even had foreign admin who had real admin roles and were actually decent. May have been a very low bar after the previous school though. Seems a āgood private day schoolā in Taipei is one where you work less than 60 hours per week and have at least one day off per week.
Hi - as someone who works at Tree House in management, Iām sorry you had such a negative experience at Tree House.
Itās true we do have staff work on Saturday some times. For Halloween, Elementary Camp and Graduation. So three Saturdays a year. To compensate for this we provided staff with over time pay or time in lieu. We also provide compensatory leave with days off for Halloween and Christmas. We also provide 7 additional working days off during LNY on top of the government holidays. And 10 working days off during the summer holidays. Of course all staff are still entitled to all leave granted to them under the LSA such as annual leave.
I appreciate you recognizing our good salary offerings. We have a transparent pay system where you can see what your earning capacity is from the moment you start your job.
Our work schedule is 9 hours a day (8:30-5:30) which includes a 1 hour lunch break. All classes and care duties are finished by 3pm. That means that from 3-5:30 teachers can prep. Staff are given flexi time from 4:00-5:30 that means that theyāre empowered with how they use that time. They can work from home, work from school or if they donāt have anything to do, they can just finish early for the day.
We do have a diverse administration team made up of people from Taiwan, UK, US and Australia. They care a lot about the people they work with and try to provide a supportive environment.
Do we know when the 10 days off happen during the summer holidays? Is it June, July, or August?
