Language has been the biggest hurdle for me. Taiwanese work culture is pretty wild and finding people to work for you can be difficult. Anyone you contract out will try to extract as much money from you as they can while delivering the absolute minimum. If you don’t have a prior relationship with these people you will be taken advantage of. The laws are vague and if you ask for clarification you might get different answers. Are you considering something in particular?
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m pretty much seeing if I should stay in the US and run my business (an Etsy shop for homemade items) or try going to Taiwan. My Mandarin is not good, but I won’t be needing to hire at the moment.
What ecom meetup are you referring to? Noticing your post is from Jul 2024, is the meetup still active? I’m making a trip in Feb / Mar and would also like to connect with entrepreneurs there, considering relocating and exploring opportunities.
