APRC Financial Requirements

Can apply for my ARPC soon as my 5 years on a spousal ARC is near. Understand generally what I need to apply except for the financial requirement. Would normally just go over to Immigration to ask but not an option right now. Read previous posts on applying for ARPC but nothing that seemed to pertain to my situation.

I do not work and receive no income from any Taiwan source nor do I have any Taiwan bank accounts. I receive my pension check in my US account and use an HSBC ATM for monthly spending needs or use my credit card. I do have an adequate amount of cash assets in savings and a retirement fund in the US. My wife has local bank accounts and receives her US check by direct deposit at HSBC. She is half owner of the property we live in.

Anyone have any idea on how the immigration will handle my situation or what documentation that may be required, so I can prepare in advance?

3. Proof of financial assets, skills, or talents (one of the below):

   (1) Having an average monthly income in Taiwan in the previous year that is more than twice of the Monthly Minimum Wage promulgated by the Council of Labor Affairs;" which is 47,600 NT per month as of 2020.

   (2) Having chattel or real estate in Taiwan with a total value worth more than NT$5,000,000

   (3) Having a certificate issued by the ROC government that certify people with specialized professionalism, techniques or have passed a technical test.

   (4) Other condition(s) recognized by the National Immigration Agency.

You can prove the above easily by using a withholding tax certificate from your employer “扣繳憑單 Kòu jiǎo píngdān” from your employer (with company stamp), a tax payment certificate (納稅證明 Nàshuì zhèngmíng), or proof that you have at least 500,000 NT in your bank account​​. I have examples of the former two documents further below.

Does anyone know what happens to our pension contribution if say we are on aprc for a few years, and then decide to leave Taiwan permanently? Can we withdraw the amount from our pension account at all?
