City Playgroup has another charity rummage sale coming up, on April 8th, 10am-2pm.

We are now looking for donations of used children’s clothing, books, games, DVDs, toys, and equipment. These donations are sold on the day for TWD10, 30, 50 or “special price tag” (for extra-special items).

All money raised goes to a children’s charity in Taiwan, and leftover goods are donated to a secondhand shop that sells goods to raise money for severly handicapped adults. Our last rummage sale, we raised over $15,000, which was donated to an orphange that cares for children abandoned by their parents during childhood.

We also welcome you to come along on the day and get some wonderful bargains, saving you money on your children’s gear and promoting recycling, too.

If you would like to donate any items, no matter how few or small, you can either bring them along on the day before 10am, or call

We also have a limited number of tables for sale for $200. You can then sell off your own items and keep the profit :slight_smile:

1st Floor
23 Fushun Street
(right at the corner of Fushun St and Tianxiang Rd)
Nearest major intersection is Zhong Shan N. Road and Min Quan West Road

5 min walk from Min Quan West Road station
many bus stops nearby
Parking in the basement of the building

Time is 10am to 2pm

*This address is tricky because the small apartment complex has two addresses. The stack I live on is 23 Fushun St. The other side of the building which is where the main entrance is located is Tianxiang Lu. But we’ll have signs out anyway.

The next Rummage Sale is just 3 three weeks away and we’re looking for some great donations! This is a great time to Declutter!

Just think of…

  • the peace you’ll bring your home and family as you get rid or unused, unwanted, unloved children’s clothes, toys, books, videos, shoes, etc.

  • other families like your own who will find great deals on gently used (sometimes new!) children’s goods. Parents and children enjoy hunting for treasures at these sales.

  • the orphans who will receive the money raised. At the last sale, we donated NT15,750 to an orphanage in Taipei County. (Send me a PM if you’d like more information).

  • the severely handicapped adults who will benefit from the leftover goods (we donate the leftovers to a Thrift Store on Bei Ping East Road which raises money for the care of these adults).

  • And finally, think of the warm fuzzies you get from having done something Good.

Just wanted to remind everyone to come along on Saturday. We already have some great donations - strollers, clothing, toys, baby carriers…

And we of course welcome any other donations you may have to make but just haven’t called about yet. Either post here/contact me through email or phone/bring the donations along on the day.

Finally, if anyone is available to look after a table at the sale for an hour or so, that would really be appreciated!

Just a reminder everyone!

The Rummage Sale is coming up, this Saturday from 10am to 2pm

1st floor, 23 Fushun Street is the official address (same as last year)
Entrance to the building is on the Tianxiang Road side
Taipei City

Lots of buses running by
MinQuan West Road Station on the Red Line is just a five minute walk away
Basement parking in the same building too

We already have lots of great Baby and Children’s Gear being donated by some very generous friends of ours.

Plan to come by and pick up a few bargains. Tell your friends, too!

If you haven’t been to one of our sales, here’s what happens:

We take donations of Maternity, Baby and Children’s goods
We sort them onto tables marked NT10, NT30, NT50 and “Special Items”
(usually higher ticket items like high quality toys, breast pumps, baby
carriers, strollers, etc.)
We promote Re-Use and Recycling!
Your donations clear your home of clutter, giving you Space and Peace!
All the cash that we raise will go to an Orphanage* in Taiwan (name, address and other details will be announced)
*At the last sale in December, we raised $15,750 and donated it to the Ai Xing Orphanage in Taipei County
All the leftover Goods will be donated to a thrift store on Bei Ping East Road which raises money for the full-time care of severely handicapped adults.

And last but not least,

Families in Taipei pick up some fantastic bargains on Gently Used (sometimes New!) children’s clothing, shoes, books, videos, toys, and more!

Some bargains found at previous sales (this is our Fifth!) include a Combi
Stroller for NT1000, a Travel Cot for NT500, Leap Frog items, a Car
Seat/Stroller Travel System, Safety Gates, a barely used Baby Sling for
NT200, and So Much More!

And Finally… we are looking for more Volunteers! A few our our faithful
volunteers (Katrina, Angie, Cheryl) are unable to join us on Saturday, and we’ll need a couple of volunteers to help us set up at 9AM on Saturday (sorting, folding, stacking), to keep the tables nice looking throughout the sale, take money, and finally to clean up and deliver the leftovers to the thrift store, just a 15 minute drive away. If you’re able to help at all, an hour of your time would so appreciated!

I will definitely be there, bright and early, with my daughter. I will try to make it early enough to help. I am just not sure how early she will wake up, but when she does we’ll head on over.
