My ARC expires on July 15th. I’m going home and not coming back. I should leave before July 15th not on July 15th or after July 15th right? Correct me if I’m wrong about this. The school is telling me to leave by July 16th but I am iffy about this since my ARC expires on July 15th. Either they’re being dumb or trying to screw me over for not having things go their way this year.

As far as I understand: You have to leave latest ON July 15th.
But: If you want to be safe, you could (if you wanted) ask NIA for an “job seeking” ARC extension:

They’re wrong. And they won’t be responsible for your consequences. I’ve been burned by the employer before.

I’ve booked my ticket for July 13th. I will be using 7 days paid annual leave for the rest of the days that I won’t be in. The school won’t like it but I don’t really care. Thought it would be safer for me to leave earlier than on the day the ARC expires or after it.
I’ve done day of, but it can be razor thin.

Me too. If you ever feel an inkling to return but don’t want to teach, there are other jobs here too for foreigners.
