Hi all, my ARC (by marriage) expired in March 2023 while overseas (we’re currently not living in Taiwan). I’m heading back to Taiwan soon for 6 weeks and want to renew my ARC. Is it the same process as a normal renewal or is there a different process?
Thanks.
What happens with my NHI? Would love to use that
I could be wrong but because it’s already been expired for a few months I’m pretty sure you need to start the application from scratch and either live in Taiwan for 6 months to join NHI or find a job. You won’t be able to renew
Someone will correct me if I’m wrong

That was my general impression too (don’t know how valid that is)

Yes, I let mine expire at the end of July. Was back 4 months later and was told would have to start the process again. I didn’t bother but may one day in the future.
I was wondering if I could live alone in Taiwan as the non -Taiwanese spouse. My wife can only stay here with me in the UK if we have a genuine relationship, live together etc…
Well that’s a bummer. On well, I guess I won’t bother.
My Taiwanese wife and daughter got their New Zealand Permanent Resident Visas before even arriving in NZ, and as the name suggests, it’s permanent. Wish Taiwan offered the same.
Thanks for the replies!
