Anecdotal observation: yes.
Me and my friend who is 189cm visited Taiwan again after 10 years, and noticed there are now significantly more (still rather uncommon, but no longer rare), men who are also 189cm / 190cm.
Was very surprising, considering it was just a time span of 10 years.
But then again, it could be just people in Ximending are taller.

Legs look longer when behind the ears
Taller girls have less to pick from, and sometimes end up single longer and even dating scene longer, so might notice them more, also they’re taller

Mate they are all tourists in ximending.
Anyway ive not noticed it but it makes sense younger generations get taller over time.
Dont talk about it though, those taller kids will be full of themlselves and treated as high status beings here. Things are bad enough as is it the amount that men here are already spoilt, leading to a country of brats who park anywhere and freak out if you beep them.
The young’uns are definitely taller. I’m 6’, and back in the 90s was pretty stinkin’ tall for Taipei, but not so much these days compared to the younger dudes.

Yes and no, there are indeed ‘many’ tourists in Ximending (many as in 1 out of 10 maybe).
But the younger generations are indeed getting taller, at least in Taipei.
I guess they’ll just need to learn to deal with the new ego problems, or not?
Isn’t this normal for all countries (of course only if no famine exists) that kids become taller than their parents?

Japanese girls don’t seem to be getting taller
Chinese girls, Korean girls do seem to be taller thanks to leg lengthening surgery
Statistics on men seems to be more common, I am guessing it comes from military service where there are heaps of data

Japan is getting poorer and poorer, people working harder just to stand still.
I wonder what the stats are in the US—one of the only advanced economies in which life expectancy, especially among men, is shortening.
