Are there fee-only financial advisors in Taipei/Taiwan that charge on hourly basis?

Are there fee-only (objective, not working on commission) financial advisors in Taipei/Taiwan that charge on an hourly basis, not just on a flat fee basis or on an AUM (Assets Under Management) basis?

I understand in the US, financial advisors who can charge you on an hourly basis (i.e., you meet with them or call them for a single appointment, on an as-needed basis) are fairly rare. I believe in the US many work only on an AUM (Assets Under Management) basis, in which they charge you 1% of your porfolio value each year in exchange for actively managing it. Wonder if there are many fee-only objective financial advisors in Taiwan who charge on an hourly basis?

Thank you - I appreciate it.

Are you from the US?

There are quite a few advice only financial advisors based in the US now who work on an hourly basis or doing a comprehensive financial plan. If you’re comfortable let us know a little bit about what you’re specifically looking for and maybe we can better help.

Hi,

Thank you! Can the financial advisors who are based in the US advise you if you are living in Taiwan?

To explain my situation, I currently am in the US, but plan to move to Taiwan in the future. I will need a financial advisor for when I am in Taiwan. As I am currently in the US, I do currently have an (advice-only, hourly) advisor who’s based in the US, but I assumed the advisors based in the US can only advise clients in the US - is this true or not?

I believe there’s restriction on what US state you live in, for a US-based advisor to accept you as a client (possibly some won’t accept you if you’re out-of-state?). So I fear that US-based advisors won’t accept you if you’re in Taiwan (as a licensing issue, or a jurisdiction issue?).

If this is not the case, and US-based financial advisors will accept clients in Taiwan, that would be great! (What have you heard, or have experienced on this?)

Thank you so much!
