I’ve been to Ruili and Alishan before, but I wonder about Fenqihu.
Is Fenqihu hat much different compare to Ruili ? Is it worth to spend a night at each place ?
Parents are coming in November. They want to see Alishan and Sun Moon Lake -
I know those places are highly touristy - so please don’t suggest me to avoid these places.
I know Alishan itsself very well, overpriced and quite shabby hotels, so I wonder about accomodation outside of the Alishan recreation area. lHeard about this lovely swiss homestay in Fenqihu.
I wonder about:
The sunrise. That much different between Fenqihu and Alishan ? Alishan has this amazing cliff to look over - how about Fenqihu ?
Is it a good idea to stay in Fenqihu, wake up there at 3 (4) am, and driving up a car in the darkness, maybe even in the fog ? Possible ? Someone did this before or is this just a silly stupid idea ?
How long to drive from Fenqihu to Alishan, if you drive a little bit more slowly ?
How about the park entrance tickets if you enter Alishan that early ?
Just driving through ? It’s not about saving money, more about avoiding any problems later ( I don’t know, do cars have to put a sticker visible in the window - do they check this ? )
How long does it take to drive from Alishan istsself to Sun Moon Lake via Yushan NP ?

We plan to stay 1 night in Ruili, 2 nights in Fenqihu.
2nd day in Fenqihu to Alishan - spend time there until afternoon doing sunrise and walks
3rd day in Fenqihu - leave early too to see sunrise in Tatajia, then onwards to SML,spend a night there and then via No. 6 Freeway back home …
Heard that Fenqihu also have a nice sunset - is this true ?
Is there any accomodation close to Tatajia ?
