Hello everyone. I would like to know your insights about working in ASE Group (Kaohsiung) as either a process engineer or RD Engineer. So far, I know it has a reputation of “paying less” compared to other semiconductor companies like TSMC, UMC, PSMC, and other foreign companies. For those who have worked or are currently working there, how is the working culture and work-life balance? Is there comprehensive training program for new comers? Would it be possible to have an offer more than 48k with a master degree and couple of years experience as process engineer, tho, not directly related to semiconductor packaging? How’s the bonus system? Does it compensate for the relatively lower base salary? Thank you!

Aren’t you low-balling yourself?

If ASE is your only option, ask for 65k, and after a couple years move to a better paying company.
I heard from an alumni from my University that he got an offer of 48k (to satisfy work permit application for foreigner), while the Taiwanese fresh master graduates got 45k. Hence, my question of the probability of getting higher than that since I already have work experience prior to grad school.
Really pains me to hear someone with your profile make that low.
I don’t think they would even agree with 60k (based on what I am hearing). But maybe someone here had an experience with ASE and can give us some figures.

Hi! Did you take ASE’s Offer? Can you recommend any other companies to me?
