Atheists like to cancel people

So Muslims are less likely to “cancel” a speaker than Buddhists?

Ah so?

But it’s those pesky intolerant atheists that are the real problem. Every day you read about agnostics blowing up abortion clinics, sending out suicide bombers, and committing genocide in the name of their Holy Land.

DM Stalin.

Tym to eliminate all religion and follow… ALIENS!!!

Stalin and Mao have been dead for well over a half century. How many atheist terrorist organizations are out there right in the here and now going around blowing people up and subjecting half the human race to servitude because they possess a vagina? And do you really want to compare the body count of Communism to all the holy wars, witch trials, and numerous atrocities and perversions committed in the name of religion over the centuries - no - millennia?

Anyway, back to freedom of speech. How many atheist organizations are calling for book bans and censorship compared to Christian organizations?

This looks like a pretty low IQ topic

There’s little correlation between spiritual belief and IQ or other personality traits because for the vast majority of people on earth, religion is not a choice, it’s something you’re born into. Oyster should know as well as anyone that if he was born in Calcutta he’d be a practicing Hindu and shunning the wicked temptation of a nice, juicy double bacon cheeseburger.

The research suggests a weak to medium correlation.

@OysterOmelet You’re wrong! Mods please ban :clown_face:

Just discuss the survey results. No drama.

The survey results show a weak correlation. There’s not enough statistical differences to show a strong tendency from group to group, except the Mormons. I chalk this up to their sect of Christianity being persecuted and marginalized for all of their history, so naturally many of them would lean towards tolerance of other’s beliefs.

Does “LDS” stands for London Drugs Shoppers? Little Dip Sh&ts? Less Devious Snakes?

I am struggle to understand the data you seem to think is important.

Guy

Also is this data from the US? If so, I can add a nice big “USA” to the top of the thread to make sure that the rest of us can understand the extremely particular context in which this data, which you seem to think is very important, is from.

Thanks in advance!

Guy

It’s also self-reported data. I mean, go to liberty University and start preaching Islam or atheism and see how quickly you get shut down.

Without looking at the raw data you can see its flawed just with the snippet of data shown.

You have a list of religious groups, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, then you have “Orthodox” with no explanation of which group this is (orthodox judaism, orthodox islam (Sunni), orthodox christianity).
Then Christianity is subdivided which in itself will warp the results, then you have the Atheist, Agnostic, Nothing in particular groups which can be grouped as none religious, but by using NiP I feel this would appeal to the less vocal Atheist and Agnostic changing the results in these groups.

Atheism is dogma.

Reminds me of the “cult of reason” that came about during the French Revolution

No it’s not, Atheism is just a name we give to a group of people who have a particular trait.

Question: Do you believe in god, gods, or some type of cosmic or spiritual overseer?

Answers: Yes = not an Atheist, Not sure = not an Atheist, It depends = still not an Atheist, No = an Atheist.
There is no other conditions attached to it, no ceremony or rituals, you don’t even need acknowledge it.

It’s like if you are right handed.

Question: Do you predominantly use your right hand?

Answer: No = not right-handed, Yes = right-handed, Yes but… = stop being silly.
The question is do you predominantly use your right hand. its up to you to decide if you do or you don’t, its not asking if you are left-handed, if your mixed-handed, ambidextrous or if you lac hands altogether.

With your new found handiness, there is no dogma involved, no rituals no ceremony, what you do with your hand is entirely between you and them.
