Baby hand and foot casting in Taipei?

Does anyone know of any places that can do baby hand and foot casting? Wanna capture my baby’s tiny hands and feet while they are still tiny! She is growing way too fast, i am going to miss kissing her minature hands and feet.

maybe you can make a wax impression first and then take that to make a mold for your casting

Yeah…I’m gonna give this a 2nd vote.

That’s right, plunge the baby’s hands and feet into boiling wax. An excellent idea!

My thought too.

You can do this at home:

er… I wasn’t thinking about boiling wax… I was thinking about soft malleable wax.

Seen that done in the Shihlin night market.

I have a left over bag of cement at the workshop if you need it.

Hi Pauline, there are casting kits you can purchase online. They’ve been around for a while. There are some that are just plaster in a pretty tin and then you make an impression of baby’s foot or hand. Then there are the ones that are 3D and are made of wax. I’ve seen the ones made of wax here, sometimes there are kiosks at the mall or the markets as another poster has mentioned. It was interesting to watch when we saw a kiosk at the Zoo Mall several years ago, but my kids made it very clear they were not putting their hands in the wax. The wax was warm, not hot, and came in many different colors. I didn’t really care for the rainbow of colors available. I think the plaster casts you can make and frame are much nicer.
