I have been looking for shops that carry Italian wine for some time now and am having immense difficulty finding any. I know that most alcohol shops have Italian wine but the selection is limited, it’s usually a Chianti or Valpolicella.

As funny as it may at first sound, You should check the RT Marts and Carrefour. I’ve been surprised by their increase in wine selections over the last 3 years.

I realize that Carrefour has begun to really expand their wine selection. RT Mart I am not too sure of as I don’t really shop there. Having said that if RT Mart is anything like Carrefour the European selection of wines is usually shit.
The French wines at Carrefour usually ranges from a few bottles of La Tour and then a shitload of shitty Bordeaux’s. Italian wines are usually a Chianti and a Valpolicalla. Italian wines seem to be underrepresented in the wine shops.
Does anyone have a wine expert that can their hands on Italian Barolo?
RT is the best address for inexpensive French wine, but not for Italian, let alone Barolo. I have come across this recently (bibedo.com/wine/?cat=14) but I haven’t tried it yet. You can contact them in English and ask for a quote.

Yup, Bibedo has Barolo in Taichung. You can contact Kim Lee (0983-077-900) for more information. She speaks English fluently; she teaches about wine and food pairings and is well-versed in wine. I’ve tried her Barolo and it’s very good wine.
