Had trouble posting this in the parenting section, so it’s here. Any leads on basketball camps (mixed with other activities is okay) would be highly appreciated. My boys would love to attend this summer. They’re bi-lingual, so camps just targeting local Taiwanese kids would also work. Thanks for your help!
- The YMCA a few blocks south of the Sungshan train/MRT station has basketball, swim lessons, and other classes year-round. My son has basketball class on weekends there right now.
- Check all the District sports centers around Taipei. I know for sure summers are full of all kinds of sports classes at these centers, because we’ve signed up our kids at various ones in the past few years. Nangang District Sports Center a few blocks east of Sungshan train/MRT station has basketball, as my son took classes there a few years ago.
- If you or other parent can read Chinese, you can check out NTNU or Taipei Physical Education College’s Tienmu campus. Both those should have sports camps during the summer, taught by the PE students there who are athletes themselves and learning how to teach sports as a career.
Outside of Taipei, I’m guessing the YMCAs in other cities also have sports classes as well for kids year-round. Just have to do a little digging.
